This week, Synch proudly took part in the Digital Abuse Hackathon hosted by Accenture. As advocates for technology and innovation, we were honored to contribute with our knowledge by sitting in the experts' corner, answering questions from the participants.
Digital abuse encompasses a range of harmful behaviors, including threats, harassment, control, and surveillance. It can manifest across various online platforms and is often used as a form of psychological violence, particularly escalating during break-ups or separations. Shockingly, statistics reveal that 19% of individuals have experienced threats, insults, or persecution online, while 30% reported sharing passwords or PIN codes with a current or former partner.
During the hackathon, we engaged in ideation sessions focused on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to combat digital abuse. By harnessing the power of AI, we explored innovative solutions aimed at detecting, preventing, and addressing instances of digital abuse in online spaces.
Participating in initiatives like the Digital Abuse Hackathon aligns with Synch's commitment to sustainability, technology, and innovation. We believe in using our knowledge and expertise to contribute to meaningful efforts that promote digital safety and well-being.
We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations in the fight against digital abuse. Together, we can create a safer and more inclusive digital environment for all.
